Cats Health Recommendation

Cats Health Recommendation

- By Dr. Craig Miller -

Cats are very adept at hiding pain and sickness. Because of this, cats should be examined by a veterinarian at least once a year. When cats reach 10 years of age, they should be examined twice a year and have blood tests annually.

Signs that should prompt you to contact a veterinarian:

  • Increase in drinking or urination
  • Decrease in appetite
  • Dramatic weight loss or gain
  • Changes in attitude or grooming
  • Unable to urinate (emergency situation)
  • Activity changes (either increased or decreased)
  • Inappropriate urination or defecation (not in the litter box)
  • Increased vocalizing
