Dr. Craig Miller - Veterinarian, Owner of Loyal Companion Animal Care Clinic
I am Dr. Craig Miller, the owner of Loyal Companion Animal Care. I would like to take this opportunity to share my background and my vision of the hospital with you.
I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was eight years old. Growing up in rural central Illinois, I had numerous domestic and wild animals as pets, including fish, snakes, turtles, rodents, rabbits, dogs, and cats. All of them were my loyal companions with wonderful bonds. To help me realize my goal, I volunteered at my local vet clinic when I was thirteen. From that point on, I have never stopped working with animals – the passion of my life.
Having received my Bachelor's in Biology with Honors at Knox College in Galesburg, IL, I attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Honors in 2001.
Always impressed by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, our family moved to Redmond in December 2004. Ten years later, our family got much bigger with the addition of our son Konnor and our daughter Zelina. Together, we love exploring the natural beauty of this region.
Pets play an important role in our lives. They are our family and best friends. Loyal Companion Animal Care opened on January 6th 2008, and our team is dedicated to improve the health and quality of life of every animal we touch. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you and your loyal companions in the near future and for many years to come.
Dr. Kirstin Madden - Veterinarian
Hello! My name is Dr. Kirstin Madden, and I am excited to be a part of the team at Loyal Companion Animal Care. For a long as I can remember, I have loved learning about animals, science, and medicine, so being a veterinarian was an obvious choice for a career. Originally from the Midwest, I graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa with a bachelor's degree in biology, then attended veterinary school at Iowa State University. After graduating in 2001, I practiced for fourteen years at a small animal hospital in the Coeur d'Alene area of northern Idaho. When my husband and I decided we would like a new place to call home, the Seattle area immediately came to mind--it has always been one of our favorite places to visit. In my spare time, I enjoy running, biking, dog agility, and all kinds of movies and music. Currently, we share our home with five dogs and three cats, so I understand how important our pets are. I promise to offer the best care I can to your furry family members. My favorite part of being a veterinarian is getting to know people and their pets, and I look forward to meeting you!
Jennifer Ewart - Office Manager
I was born in Iowa, but moved to Washington at age 9. I grew up in Mukilteo and attended Edmonds community college and graduated from University of Washington, Bothell. I am very happy to call the Pacific Northwest home! I share my home with my husband, our 2 rescue cats and a chihuahua I took home to “foster” about 9 years ago! I joined the veterinary field in 2000 and never looked back! I have been a receptionist, assistant, staff supervisor and also worked at a Specialty clinic for 7 years. In my spare time I enjoy running and participating in the occasional half marathon. I love boating and golfing in the summer, skiing in the winter and cheering on all our Seattle sports teams! I am very excited to be a part of the Loyal Companion team! The best part of working in the veterinary field is not only getting to bond with the patients but getting to know the owners as well!
Angie Berning - Receptionist
My name is Angie. I grew up in southern California and moved up to Washington in the summer of 2014. I have a Siberian Husky named Brody that I absolutely adore. On my free time I enjoy hiking, being outdoors, and watching movies. I have always had a love for animals big and small and had quite the variety of animals growing up. I grew up riding Morgan horses and going to horse shows within the country. I had always known I wanted to work with animals since I was a little girl and am now happy to be a part of the Loyal Companion team.
Breanna Bauer - Receptionist
My name is Breana, I was born and raised right here in Washington. My whole life I have loved animals, catching every bit of wildlife I could get my hands on. My first animal was a cat named Cougar and soon after that, I got my first puppy. I always knew I wanted to do something with animals so I went to school to become a veterinary assistant. I also train service dogs and pet dogs for people when I can, it’s my true passion. My first job in the vet field was at a high paced emergency animal hospital, I learned that was not for me and found the wonderful Loyal Companion Animal Care. I couldn’t be happier than I am working for such a wonderful clinic with such a kind staff and being able to meet all of you amazing clients.
Tessina Davidson - Licensed Veterinary Technician
I was born in Juneau, Alaska and moved to the Kirkland area in 2010. I have always loved animals and spent my life traveling. I volunteered at various facilities including Inti Wara Yasi in South America with monkeys and the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Africa. I joined the veterinary field in 2007 and became licensed with the state of Washington in 2012. I’m excited to be a part of the Loyal Companion Animal Hospital team. I’m often in the mountains on a river or on the ocean in a fishing boat, but I spend most of my time doing home and landscape remodel with my fiancé and our four cats.
Saresa Whitwer - Licensed Technician
I was born and raised in Washington and always knew helping animals was my calling. I have been in the field of veterinary medicine since 1998, starting out as an assistant and worked in general practice with small animals dealing mostly with dentistry and client education. After many years expanding my knowledge in general practice I received my veterinary technician license in 2008 and I moved forward to a larger hospital and had the opportunity to gain xperience in specialty work such as anesthesia, surgical, emergency and ophthalmology. My husband and I moved to Florida for his business and I was able to get back to my true passion of small animal dentistry but after missing our family and wanting to start our own we moved back to Washington. Now I spend my free time enjoying my 2 boys and dog Texan with my husband. I also love to attend veterinary conferences to keep my knowledge sharp and to always be learning. I consider myself very blessed to have been invited to join Loyal Companion and share in helping our community and our beloved furry family members.

Brianna Cady - Veterinarian Assistant
My name is Brianna. I grew up in Edmonds with at least 2 dogs and multiple cats at a time. Growing up with animals made it easy for me to choose a career working with animals. I knew I wanted to have a career in the veterinary field ever since I was a young girl. Right after I graduated high school from Edmonds Woodway high school I got my certificate in dog training and soon after decided I wanted to continue working with animals. I am currently attending the San Juan College Veterinary Technology distance learning program to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have worked at 2 doggy day cares, a pet store, one other Veterinary Hospital and now I am happy to be part of the Loyal Companion Animal Care team as a Veterinary Assistant. Amanda Dailey - Veterinarian Assistant
My name is Amanda, and I'm very excited to be back and a part of the LCAC team again! I've grown up in Seattle, wanting to be in the veterinary industry so i decided to get a Bachelors of Science in Zoology. My passion ended up leading me towards Wildlife Conservation which landed me field work experience in Tanzania and South Africa working on Predator Ecology. Once that was done, I found myself wanting to get back into the Veterinary field, and in early 2016, joined LCAC. After a year, I decided to take a year and backpack around the World, where I ended up volunteering at a Veterinary Organization helping the stray animals in Sri Lanka, which was incredible and assured my passion for the Veterinary field. Now that my travels are over, I can't wait to be back at LCAC. I look forward to meeting you or seeing you again!
